The free, family-friendly event kicks off at 9 a.m. That's when we cut the ceremonial ribbon in the Municipal Maintenance Athletic Centre. Things get sweeter at 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. when Mayor Pellegrini and King Township Council serve pancakes, bacon and other breakfast goodies (prepared by the King City Lions Club) in the Community Room.
Recreational activities—from swimming, skating and (so many!) sports—start at 11 a.m. and run through to 3 p.m. Do what you love or try something new, with dedicated times for badminton, basketball, soccer, pickleball, and lacrosse, as well as a toddler’s playgroup and building, coding and playing with robots.
Curious about Canada’s first zero-carbon, combined aquatics and ice sports facility? Explore the state-of-the-art amenities on a staff-led facility tour, running hourly from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Hockey fans can cheer on King Township’s Junior A Team the King Rebellion as they face-off with the Caledon Admirals in the JTF Homes Arena. The puck-drops at 3 p.m. Donation of a non-perishable food item for the King Township Food Bank is required for entry.
