The Mayor's Message

On behalf of the Council, I am delighted to welcome you to the official website for the Township of King.

Our website offers you the opportunity to meet our Council and learn more about our municipality’s operation by visiting our various departments. It also permits our visitors to see some of the many wonderful things there are to see and do in our beautiful township.

The Township of King is one of nine municipalities located in York Region. We are part of the Greater Toronto Area, with a population nearing 20,000. Our municipality is located approximately halfway between Toronto and Barrie, stretching from Bathurst Street to just east of Highway 50.

Herds of prize cattle and many prestigious horse farms dot our rolling countryside. The northern area of our municipality is the home to the Holland Marsh, known to many as the “Vegetable Basket” of Ontario.
