TYKES
Ages 3-4
A fabulous camp that offers crafts, songs, co-operative games, outdoor activities and fun. Our TYKES Camp program is reviewed and implemented by a certified ECE instructor. Campers participate in activities that focus on:
- Developing gross motor skills through sports and active play
- Expanding language skills by talking, reading, and singing
- Learning co-operation by helping and sharing
- Experimenting with pre-writing and pre-reading skills through crafts and story time
- Campers register for half days or full days.*
Tykes Camps runs out of the Dr. William Laceby Nobleton Community Centre and Arena
JUNIORS
Ages 5-6
Juniors 1 & 2*
Camper's will participate in a traditional camp experience including a variety of sports, games, crafts, swimming, theme days, and special events. We offer two different Junior programs. The intention is to give our younger campers the opportunity to easily transition from Tykes to Juniors in a smaller group setting. This will also help older junior's transition to intermediate camps'
Hockey Camp
Campers will develop new skills and improve existing abilities by practicing balance, skating, stopping, skating with a puck, puck handling, shooting, passing, turns, and crossovers. The campers will also participate in dry land training to promote strength, speed and power for on and off the ice. Full hockey equipment is required. campers need to know the basics of skating, and need to skate without assistance.
Arts camp - Traditional, Abstract and mixed Media***
Create original and fun art projects. in this camp we explore different types of art through a variety of techniques, materials and individual and group projects. Sculpting, different painting styles, self-portrait and collage included. Activities will take place indoors and outdoors in an atmosphere of fun and learning.
Scientific Wonders - Science and inventions***
Explore, experiment and discover some of the wonders of the world through science. Campers will re-create some of history's most important inventions and do fun experiments. No harmful chemicals will be used. Activities will take place indoors and outdoors in an atmosphere of fun and learning.
*Full day campers at the Nobleton Community Centre have the option of participating in our camp swim. Please indicate whether your child will swim on the registration form.
** Campers may take swimming lessons during camp hours for an additional cost.
