About the Project

Sanitary sewer hook ups for the Nobleton residents became available in June 2011 after the first Contact Areas were completed.

Construction work in several Contract Areas is complete and connection notices have been sent to property owners in those areas.

In 2012, construction will take place in Contract Areas 4B, 7A and 7C.  The remaining Contract Areas (5,6 and 7B) are slated for 2013).

View the map to find out what Contract Area your property is located in.

Important Facts for Property Owners

  • ·The Nobleton Sanitary Sewer System is being constructed in two phases:
    o   Work began in 2008
o   It’s expected that work in Phase 1 of the project will be complete by 2014
o   Phase 2 will begin after that, subject to council approval and community consultation
  • Property owners are required to connect to the system within one year of its installation in their neighbourhood, and pay a fee to the Township for part of the cost of constructing the system.
  • Sewer usage billing begins once a property is connected to the sewer system. However, even if a property is not hooked up within the one-year deadline, sewer usage fees are added to the owner’s water bill.
  • ·Property owners are also responsible for the cost of connecting their own property to the municipal sewer pipe, and decommissioning their septic system. The cost of this work varies from property to property.
