The By-Law Enforcement Officers of the Township of King strive to enforce the municipal by-laws obtaining compliance through mediation within a reasonable timeframe and conducted in a fair consistent manner.
Compliance of the by-laws is a framework which creates a safe and healthy environment for the residents of the community.
By-law Enforcement Services for the Township of King is operated within the Clerk's Department. It is staffed by an Enforcement Manager, two Enforcement Officers and an Administrative Assistant. Office hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and we are located within the Township of King Administrative Offices at 2075 King Road, King City.
By-law Enforcement Services is responsible for the enforcement of By-laws passed by the Council of the Township of King as well as certain Provincial Legislation. Some of the most common by-law complaints within the Township relate to animal complaints, depositing fill without a permit, littering, noise control, prohibited parking, property standards, standing water, water restrictions, weed complaints, and zoning infractions. To report an occurrence after regular office hours that requires immediate assistance, please contact the York Regional Police Services at 905-895-1221. The Enforcement Manager and Officers are also appointed as inspectors by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food to carry out enforcement as it relates to "The Weed Control Act of Ontario", in cases where agricultural land is effected by noxious weeds named within the Act.
