Establishing minimum standards for swimming pool enclosures. 

A building permit is required to erect a pool enclosure fence in accordance with the Fence and Swimming Pool Enclosure By-law 2005-112 and 2007-72.

All pools must be fenced, with the exception stated in  section 6.4.

Pool means a privately owned outdoor swimming pool which includes any body of water or pool located outdoors on privately owned property contained in part or in whole by artificial means and used or intended for swimming, diving, or bathing but does not include:

i.  a pond used for decorative, landscape, agricultural or storm water management purposes.

ii.  a body of water or pool that is less than 0.5 metres (19 inches) in height or depth, or a combination thereof.
