Summer 2011 brings two very exciting participant and open to the public spectator events to Summerski Park. The 30 acre private water skiing and wakeboard club open to the public via membership. The lake is in an expired gravel pit with quality drinking water at the northern end of the Township at 18205 Keele Street, located less than an hour from Toronto and 4km west of Newmarket.
Summerski caters to a fairly elite skiing clientele that appreciate the convenience of being able to go skiing any day of the week when the weather is good or just appreciate the advantages of skiing on calm water with excellent instruction and no boat traffic.
In 2008 Summerski hosted the 2008 Water Ski Championships and 2008 Canadian Adaptive Championships. In 2009 the Canadian Barefoot Nationals was hosted, events are free to spectators.
