Saturday June 1 – Pollinator Planting - In celebration of National Pollinator Week join us at Blue Heron Park in King City from 10:00am – 11:30am for a free community wildflower planting and learn how to create a pollinator habitat. Sunday June 2 - Looking for something to do this Sunday? Join us at Trisan Centre from 10:00 – 10:50am for a free Family Stick and Puck!  For more information please call 905-939-1216.

 

Monday June 3 – Bellyfit - With a fun twist of an old classic, this aerobics-style class includes Belldance, Bhangra, Bollywood African and standard cardio dance. The class cools down with yoga choreographed to upbeat music and finishes with a gentle, relaxing stretch. For participants aged 16+, class runs from 8:00pm – 9:00pm at the Municipal Centre. Tuesday June 4 – Seniors Community Exercise Program. Calling all Seniors!  Come join us at the Nobleton Arena (Hall) from 1:00-2:00pm for a low impact exercise program.  Help improve your mobility and stability.  For more information please contact Anthony Turosky at 905-939-1216 or aturosky@king.ca

 

Wednesday June 5 –  Library Reading Programs – From 9:30 – 11:00am the Schomberg Library is hosting various reading programs for children aged 0 – 5 years old. For more information and program schedule visit http://www.kinglibrary.ca/ or call 905-939-2102.   

 

Thursday June 6 – Drop-In Gym Playgroup – Join us for a fun and active program for participants ages 1 – 5. Kids will have to opportunity to climb, jump, ride and of course play in our new gymnasium! New sports equipment and toys! Indoor shoes are required. No pre-registration required. Program is at the Municipal Centre from 10:00am – 12:00pm and is $5.00 per child. This is a caregiver participating class.  

 

Friday June 7 – Frog Watch – Listen for the sounds of Spring at Tasca Park! Enjoy an evening walk with the TRCA through a wetland to monitor local frogs and toad populations. Walk will take place from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. Free for participants however must register at www.trcastewardshipevents.ca or calling 416-661-6600 ext. 5203. 

 

Saturday June 8 – King City Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival. Enjoy some of the best craft breweries and gourmet food trucks from around the Province! The event also features two stages with nonstop musical performances. This is an all-ages event. For more information or to purchase tickets https://www.kingcraftbeerandfood.com/.

 

Sunday June 9 – Play basketball in the outdoor courts at the King City and Nobleton Arena.

 

Monday June 10 – Enjoy a free day of Fitness activities at the Trisan Centre.  Enjoy a wide variety of Fitness Classes, Fitness Centre and Track.  The Trisan Centre is open from 5:30am-10pm.  Please call 905-939-1216 for more information or email aturosky@king.ca

 

Tuesday June 11 – Mountain Bike Race Series.  Are you interested in joining a mountain bike race series in a friendly and noncompetitive environment – than the King Weekly Race Series is for you! All interested riders must preregister with Evolution Cycles and obtain an Ontario Cycling Association Citizens Permit. Wednesday June 12 – Pickleball at Nobleton Public School (6:30pm - 9pm). Pickleball is an easy to learn paddle sport which can be played by anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability. This program is open to participants aged 18+ and for all skills levels no registration is needed. The cost for the program is $5.00 / participant. For more information contact programs@king.ca

 

Thursday June 13 – Drop-in Carpet Bowling – For participants 55+, join us at the Trisan Centre for some carpet bowling. Cost is $5.00 per person. 

 

Friday June 14 – Drop-in Playgroup – For participants aged 1 – 5, join us for stories, songs, crafts and active play at the Trisan Centre.  No registration required, $5.00 per child. This is a caregiver participating class.

 

Saturday June 15 – Yoga Flow – Feature fluent transitions and repetitions for each pose. A strong class with challenging poses and pace for advanced beginners or intermediate yogis. Sunday June 16 – In celebration of June is Parks and Rec Month - Join us Sunday June 17th for a FREE public skate at the Trisan Centre from 2pm – 3:20pm.

 

Monday June 17 – Check out the Fitness track at Tasca Park. Tasca Park is one of King Township's premier outdoor facilities. Within this park, patrons can enjoy 1 km paved fitness track that features four different fitness activity stations where users can test their physical fitness levels.

 

Tuesday June 18 – Check out the Snoezelen Room at the Nobleton Arena (8:30am-4:30pm). A Snoezelen Room is a multisensory environment used as a form of therapy for individuals with specials need. The creation of the Snoezelen room is an exciting opportunity for the Township of King to continue to grow in its accessibility practices.  Interested in seeing the space yourself? Wednesday June 19 – Bee House Building – In celebration of National Pollinator Week join us at Laskay Hall at the King Heritage and Cultural Site from 6:00pm – 7:30pm to learn how you can help support pollinators in our community.  A Master Gardener will show participants how to build a bee house using recycled materials for native bees. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own recycled bee house to take home. Friday June 21 – Healing with Honey Workshop – In celebration of National Pollinator Week join us at the Municipal Centre from 10:00am – 11:00am to learn about honey and staying healthy with bees. Saturday June 22 – Drop-In Climb at Cold Creek Conservation Area (11:30-3:30). Visit Cold Creek to participate in a FREE Drop-In Climb and test your skills on our Challenge Course and Rock Climbing Tower.  All supplies will be provided.  Please Note: Closed toed shoes must be worn to climb.  All climbers must be 7 years of age or older to participate.  This event is weather dependent. Monday June 24 – Free 55+ Shinny at Trisan from 11:30am – 12:20pm.

 

Tuesday June 25 – Free Drop-In Basketball – Looking to shoot some hoops on your own or maybe start a pick-up game? Then you should check out our drop-in basketball program at the Municipal Centre. Drop-in is open for youth ages 13+. Indoor shoes are required.

 

Wednesday June 26 – Enjoy a free Line Dance Class at the Trisan Centre from 2:00-3:30pm.  The Trisan Centre is open from 5:30am-10pm.  Please call 905-939-1216 for more information or email aturosky@king.ca

 

Thursday June 27 – Pilates – Learn the fundamentals of proper Pilates technique. The Pilates program encourages strong abdominals, spine and pain free shoulders, hips and back. Friday June 28 – Free Youth Shinny at the Trisan Centre (4:30 – 5:20pm). Youth shinnies are open to youth aged 13-17 who wish to improve their hockey skills and get some extra ice time. Pick-up games are planned by those in attendance and goalies play for free. All players must wear helmets and gloves; full equipment is highly recommended. Saturday June 29 - Lane Swim will be available for continuous lap swimming every Saturday and Sunday morning from 9am-10am. Swimmers must be able to swim full lengths comfortably and be comfortable in deep water. To ensure a positive experience for all participants:

  • Check with the pool staff on the number of lanes that are available
  • Ask how the lanes are divided and/or designated to other activities
  • Observe the pace of swimmers before choosing the lane that best suits your pace
  • See a lifeguard if you require assistance

Monday July 1 - The grand tradition of Canada's celebration at Tyrwhitt Park in Kettleby continues. Presented by the Kettleby Village Association in partnership with the Township of King. Bring the family and join us for old-fashioned fun and games for kids of all ages, including stage entertainment, delicious foods and Fireworks to complete the day.
