Cold Creek Conservation Area is an ecologically diverse and sustainable natural area, home to a wide arrayof plant and animal species, that consists of 190 hectares within the Humber River Watershed (a designated Canadian Heritage River). A portion of the property lies within the “Natural Linkage” policy area of the Oak Ridges Moraine and is significant due to its unique natural features that includes a mixed coniferous swamp which contains the rare black spruce. We strive to balance the natural environment while providing outdoor education, recreation, and cultural and heritage experiences.
Come and visit Cold Creek every Saturday in January and February to enjoy our beautiful snowy trails and warm up in the Visitor Centre with some hot drinks. The Visitor Centre is transformed into a cozy space with comfortable couches and chairs to warm up after a chilly winter hike. Visitors of the Park are also welcome to rent snowshoes or cross country skis to use for the day, or take them offsite with you!
