Monthly Astronomy Nights

​Astronomers with or without telescopes are invited to these fun, family friendly workshops to observe and learn what's in the sky this month. Planets, galaxies, nebulas and other deep sky objects. Guest speakers will explore the different tools used to enhance your experience and provide tips, tricks and techniques. A power point presentation will be followed by observation in the parking lot.

Astronomy Moonlight Snowshoe

Come and join us for a beautiful evening of winter snowshoeing and enjoy the stars, the sights and sounds at Cold Creek. Guest speakers will provide tips and tricks to map out the night sky. Snowshoes are available to rent on a first come first serve basis. Please note snowshoeing is weather dependent. If there isn't enough snow to snowshoes we will alternatively hike. Please be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, hikes will take place on wooded trails.

​Enjoy your Family Day thoughout the Township while participating in exciting activities including the annual learn to curl at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg, free snowshoe and cross country ski rentals at Cold Creek Conservation Arean and fun Family Day activities in King City! Maple Syrupfest - March 10, 2017, 10:00am-2:00pm

Start your day right with a delicious pancakes breakfast and learn about syrup tapping, evaporating, filtering and the rich history that brought us this sweet treat. Drop in for the sweet taste of maple syrup and take part in a variety of exciting activities for all ages. 


Snowshoe & Cross-Country Ski Rentals

Available at Cold Creek after the first snowfall of the season. Snowshoes and skis may be rented for a whole weekend and taken offsite to various locations. For more inforamtion contact Cold Creek staff at coldcreek@king.ca​ or 905-833-5321 ext. 5233

The Winter Chalet at Cold Creek

Come and visit Cold Creek every Saturday in January and Feburary to enjoy the beautiful trails and then warm up in the Visitor's Centre with some hot drinks in the Winter Chalet! The Visitor's Centre is equipped with comfortable couches and chairs to relax and warm up after a chilly hike with a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
