Looking for a career in the municipal sector? Find out how our recruitment process works at the Township of King.
To apply, simply view Current Employment Opportunities under the Human Resources section and select the position you are interested in. Applications are assessed based on the information provided in resumes. It is important that you provide full details of your education, work experience and credentials. This information assists us in determining the candidates best qualified for the position. The more complete and comprehensive your resume is the easier it will be to assess your skills, abilities and qualifications.
A wide range of resources are available – many online – to assist you in preparing your resume and interviewing for a career opportunity. There’s helpful information to be gained whether you are new to the employment market or ready to move ahead in your career.
Applications submitted are reviewed by Human Resources and the Hiring Manager. Based on predetermined criteria, applications are assessed and interview candidates are identified. We appreciate all applications; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
One or more interviews will be conducted by an interview panel which typically consists of a representative from Human Resources and the Hiring Manager. Interviews may include various testing, behavioural based and/or situational questions.
Candidates invited for an interview may be required to provide any of the following documents:
A copy of Educational Transcripts
Work Samples – Reports
Proof of Professional Certification/Licenses specified in the career opportunity
Letters of Reference – work related and/or professional
With your permission, Human Resources will contact the preferred candidate’s references to gain additional job-related information and verify work history.
