King Township requires dog owners to comply with a number of bylaws designed to reduce conflicts between dogs, their owners and other members of the community.
Licencing your Dog or Cat
Every owner of a dog or cat shall, on or before the 15th day of April in each and every year, or upon becoming the owner of a dog/cat, licence each animal with the Township of King.
Every dog must be inoculated with an anti-rabies vaccine. When you acquire a puppy you are required to obtain a dog licence/tag - the puppy will be exempt from having a rabies vaccine until 6 months of age.

You may now submit your application and payment for dog and cat tags online. Tags purchased online will be mailed to you directly. If you are renewing a tag from 2016, you will not receive a new tag in the mail (all tags issued from 2015 no longer indicate the year and the number carries forward, please see the note below for more information).
Keep your Dog and Cat Tags!
From 2015 onward, tags will no longer indicate the year issued. You are still required to licence your dog or cat annually, but you may continue to use the same tag each year. Replacement tags can be acquired from the Township for $10 if the tag is misplaced. Please note that tags are specific to each animal and are non-transferrable.
