| Yes.
Commissioner of Oath services are offered through the Clerk’s
Department between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
and include affidavits*, oath, pension documents from other countries
and statutory declarations. Please refer to the current fees and charges by-law for information regarding fees for this service.
It is strongly recommended that you contact the Township in advance of
your visit to confirm that a Commissioner is available to witness your
signature at the time you expect to attend Township offices. The
individual who will be taking the oath and signing the document must
present one original piece of government issued photo identification :
i.e. a valid driver’s license, a valid passport, which includes your
address. Please do not sign the document in advance. The Commissioner must witness your signature.
The
Township does not provide Notary Public services. A list of Notary
Publics and lawyers who notarize documents can be found in your local
phone directory.
* Affidavits regarding Wills and Real Estate require the services of a lawyer. |

you intend to marry within Ontario, you may obtain a marriage licence at most
municipal offices within Ontario. The Township of King issues marriage licenses
through the Clerks Department. Information is available through Marriage
Services. The closest municipal offices which also issue marriage

Newmarket (www.newmarket.ca) Town of Richmond Hill (www.town.richmond-hill.on.ca). |

| Sample
water bottles for well water testing may be picked up at the following locations: The
west entrance of the Township of King office at 2075 King Road; at
the Trisan Centre at 25 Dillane Drive, Schomberg; the Nobleton Arena, 15 Old King Road, Nobleton, or at the Board of Health office in Newmarket or Richmond Hill. Please return
the well water sample back to the Board of Health office, not to the
Township of King.
The Newmarket Board of Health office is located at the Tannery Mall, 465 Davis Drive, 2nd Floor, (905) 895-4511. The Richmond Hill Board of Health office is located at 50 High Tech Road, (905) 762-2090.
Municipal
water testing for chlorine and water hardness is done by the Region of
York. Please contact the Region of York at (905) 895-1200 for more

Question : How Do I Obtain Comparisons of Similar Property Assessments? (1)

| There are two ways to obtain information about property assessments:
1.
AboutMyProperty™ is available on-line for property owners to obtain
property assessment information. AboutMyProperty™ is a secure, online
service available on the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation’s
(MPAC) website at www.mpac.ca. Residential owner’s can access:
Detailed information about their own property;
Information on up to 24 additional residential properties of their choice.
This
information can be used to compare your assessment to similar
properties in the area and help determine if the assessment is accurate.
Property owners may also choose to file a Request for Reconsideration
through AboutMyProperty™. Property owners will need their
AboutMyProperty™ User ID and Password to login, found on the bottom
corner of your 2008 Property Assessment Notice.

At the Township office the Assessment Roll Books are available for the
public to view. You may look up surrounding properties to obtain a
comparison of property assessments. |
Question : How do I order a Property Identification (“911”) Sign? (1)

| Please
fill out the Property Identification Sign order form available through Online Payments,
or obtain a form at the municipal office. The form, along with payment, must be
returned to the municipal office at the beginning of each month. The
signs are ordered once a month, and take about 2-4 weeks to arrive at
our office. Please refer to the current fees and charges by-law for the current fees for a sign and pole.
The metal pole is 7 feet in length and must be
transported in a vehicle which can accommodate this length. |

| Animal Control services for the Township of King are contracted through the City of Vaughan. To report a stray dog, please call 1-855-227-7297. Reoccurring problems should also be reported to the Township of King By-law Department for investigation. |

| Please contact the Engineering & Public Works Department to report a burnt out street light on a municipal road. The Region of York Roads Department (telephone number 905-895-1200) handles all street lights on Regional Roads (i.e. Jane, Keele, Weston). Repair may take about 4-6 weeks from date of reporting. |
Question : What day is my garbage / recycling picked up? (1)

| Garbage
is collected by Green For Life ("GFL") on a bi-weekly basis, between Tuesday and Friday,
depending on where you are located in the Township. Garbage collection
occurs anytime between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please
consult the current Wqste Collection Calendar to
confirm your day of pickup. Recycling and green bin collection occurs
on a weekly basis, on the same day of the week as your garbage. For all inquiries regarding missed collection or to schedule an applicance pickup, please call GFL at 1-866.421-5625 or visit www.gflenv.ca .

| We are located at 2075 King Road in King City, Ontario. Our office is located between Keele and Dufferin St., next to the King City Fire Hall. The Parks, Recreation and Culture department is located at Dr. William Laceby Community Centre and Arena, at 15 Old King Road, Nobleton, ON. Our hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. |
