Please provide the following information:

  • Permit #
  • Project Location / Address
  • Type of Inspection
  • Requested Date
  • Contact Name and Telephone Number
  • A.M. or P.M. Inspection  Requested (or Anytime)

Inspection requests made before 3:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the following business day.  Inspection requests made after 3:00 p.m. will be scheduled for two business days.

At what construction stages do I need an inspection?

When a building permit is issued by the Township of King, a list of mandatory inspections required during the construction stage is outlined in the package provided by the building department with the issuance of the building permit. (I.e. A Framing, Plumbing & Heating rough-in Inspection should be requested prior to the
installation of insulation and upon completion of electrical rough-in). Required inspections are also listed on the back side of the building permit card.

How do I cancel my inspection request?

Canceling an inspection request can be done via phone.

To cancel an inspection scheduled for the current business day, call the Building Division at 905-833-4078.
 
To cancel an inspection scheduled for a future business date, please use the hotline number 905-833-4098 or email inspections@king.ca.

What should I do if I forget to schedule an inspection?

Contact the Building Division at 905-833-4078 if you have forgotten to schedule an inspection. The Permit Administrator will assess the urgency of your situation and will try arrange a time for an inspector to come out to the site to inspect based on their availability.

Who is the inspector for my area and how can he/she be reached?

Inspectors are assigned according to scheduling, work load, geographical location of inspections, inspection type and the type of construction being undertaken. (I.e. Housing, Industrial, Commercial or Institutional). Please contact the Building Division at 905-833-4078.

Why are scheduled inspections mandatory?

By Provincial law, prescribed scheduled inspections are required to ensure continuous compliance with the Ontario Building Code.  By scheduling mandatory inspections, our Building Inspectors are able to work closely with Builders and homeowners, ensuring Building Code compliant work.
